I am an electronic musician and producer with over five years of experience and advanced musical and technical knowledge.

I, Aden Cheney, am the artist behind the vekoN project. I have also released under a couple other aliases in the past, but these do not represent my current style.

I have not been significantly involved in any third-party projects, but I am looking to grow my portfolio and gain experience!

I accept payment via PayPal, but I can use other options if PayPal is unavailable to you. I prefer half-upfront payment.

Services:

Original Music: I will create original music for your animation, game, movie, or any other project that requires a striking electronic soundtrack.

For a single song, I charge $40 USD per minute. For multiple songs (e.g., an OST), my rate is $25 USD per minute. I am willing to adjust my prices to suit the budget of your project.

I am most comfortable in these genres:

• Drum 'n' bass and its various subgenres (jungle, darkstep, atmospheric, jump-up, etc.)
• IDM / drill 'n' bass
• Breakcore / speedcore
• House (primarily electro house and complextro)
• Dubstep / brostep (including tearout, riddim/trench, and color bass)
• Ambient / downtempo / glitch
• Experimental / noise
• Glitch hop / neurohop

I am also willing to compose and produce in these genres if needed:

• Instrumental hip-hop (no vocals, unless an acapella is provided as part of the commission, see "Production / Mixing / Mastering")
• House (of the subgenres not listed above)
• Techno
• Trance
• Hardcore techno
• Footwork / juke
• Solo piano / keyboard
• Chiptune / fakebit

I cannot/will not make:

• Anything substantially acoustic/live (including, but not limited to: country, rock, jazz, metal, classical, etc.) I do not have access to live performers, instruments, or professional multisample libraries and do not know the norms of any of these genres
• Anything that requires me to sing. I cannot sing well, yet
• Anything that promotes a hateful ideology or serves a harmful purpose. I will be the arbitrator of this.
• Anything NSFW. I am 18+, I just don't feel comfortable working in this space
• Anything not mentioned here that I know I cannot do. PM me for questions

Note for game developers: I primarily use SunVox, a tracker with a project playback and manipulation library for developers. Thus, you are welcome to request interactive/generative project files to incorporate into your project using the library!

Production / Mixing / Mastering: I will produce, mix, and/or master your idea, performance, stems, or mixdown!

For performances (e.g., instrument playing, singing, rapping), I am limited to the genres listed above in the "Original Music" section. However, for mixing/mastering, I am not limited to genre and will mix and/or master any SFW, non-harmful material!

I charge $30 USD for a mixdown, $20 USD for a master, and $25 USD per minute of production. Mixing and mastering together will be $45. In all cases, I need a lossless audio file or files (preferably .wav or .flac). There is no headroom requirement, although if you send a 16-bit file I ask that it does not clip.

Sound Effects / Sound Design: I will create sound effects for your project! This includes sample packs!

I charge $.25 USD per sound effect. 5 in a bundle will cost $1.00 USD, 10 $2.00 USD, etc. If the number of sound effects is not a multiple of five I will round to the nearest multiple and add the remainder separately.

I will create any sound effect that does not require an advanced recording environment and material that cannot be found in a typical household. I specialize in synthesized sound effects, particularly sci-fi, "pseudo-acoustic", and anything based off of contemporary EDM sound design (e.g., basses, drums, pads, etc.)

Track/WIP Critique: I will be a second pair of ears for your finished track or WIP!

I have a vast amount of experience and knowledge to draw from when evaluating your track; I will give constructive criticism and advice on production, composition, mixing, mastering, and generally how to take your song to the next level!

I charge $2.00 USD per 100 words of critique. I will try to keep my review within a few words less or more than the allotted amount.

My Equipment:

My main production environment is the wonderful and versatile modular synth and tracker SunVox. I also use Ardour for "traditional" DAW work, and I have a variety of professional-grade FOSS synths and effects, including Vitalium (Vital), Surge XT, Zyn Fusion, and the LSP suite of effects. Where FOSS does not cover my needs I have created my own synths and effects in SunVox and Faust. I have a large library of samples and reference mixes I can draw from for my own work.

I use an Alesis Vortex Wireless 2 keytar as my principal MIDI controller, Audio-Technica ATH-M50X headphones with Dekoni earpads, and an Audio-Technica ATR2500X-USB microphone for voice recording. All of this is running under Pop!_OS GNU/Linux on a System76 Gazelle laptop.
