i love the progression and the icy pads, the hardcore-esque drum pattern is neat too

the bassline is awesome (both in melody and the timbre), and as said before i like the unique cymbal loop

the sound effects throughout help cement the atmosphere, although maybe the speech samples could have been placed more... discreetly? maybe they stick out a little too much in the arrangement

Thanks, yeah for something like this I will admit they seem a bit out of place. I was mainly trying to focus on the Sega aspect (which I succeeded) and @taintedlogic’s advice (which I have a good feeling I failed, again), but your right, they could be a bit more discreet, except for that scream that sounds like a banshee, that was meant to be loud.

cool remix! personally i feel like the "clap" of the snare (i.e., the 2-4khz range) could have been boosted more. and also the body and clicky frequencies of the kick. i personally like prominent drums, and perhaps you could try it out?

the way i make my mixes loud is to just put a soft clipper in my project with a like +9db boost and then mix into that. if it inevitably sounds like garbage then i just eq it until it doesn't. i can get super loud but also falsely dynamic with this approach

Thats an interesting approach! I tend to like group all my elements together and stuff and I treat each group (drums,bass,highs) as their own independent mixes. I don't usually do super "broad strokes" on the master and this was kind of a weird exception. I lowkey haven't tried mixing into a soft clipper but for my next song I'll do that just to try it lmao.
